A letter by, Owner and Co-founder Greg Young
The first thought of Natura materialized at the end of a long and grueling summer back in 2010. Back then, my friend Danny and I were helping other pest control companies grow. At the end of a long day, we were driving home together and I said to him, “I think we can provide better customer service than the companies we’re working for.” He immediately responded, “Oh for sure!”
We couldn’t stop thinking about it. We talked in length about what exactly we would do differently and how we would do it. We knew we wanted to offer world class customer service, eco-friendly pest control, and provide the most thorough service people had ever seen. After a month or so, it became inevitable. We were going to start our own pest control company.
We tried a few different names, from "Evergreen," to "Suntech", but nothing felt as good as Natura (it was Danny’s idea). We fell in love with the name because it spoke so naturally to our aspiration to be the safest. After all, people shouldn’t have to worry about their kids or pets’ safety to get rid of the creepy-crawlies.
So, in 2012, we officially opened our doors. That first year was rough. We grew very little. 2013 was better, however things really started to explode in 2014. Over the next few years, we went on to add $8 million in new sales and open 4 more offices, including one in Washington.
As 2016 came to a close, Danny and I revisited our initial reason for starting this business. One of the main reasons was our desire to provide best-in-class customer service. As we talked and reviewed, we had to be honest and admit that we weren’t providing this yet. It was a disappointing thing to admit to ourselves.
So, in early 2017, with a chance to start new, we opened a Natura office in Reno, NV with longtime friend and pest control guru, Andrew Burress.
Then, in 2020, we opened another new office in Tri-Cities, Washington under the name Proterra Pest Control. (You can click here to see why it is branded differently.)
Back in 2017, when we opened our Reno, NV location, we committed to really delivering on best-in-class customer service because people deserve to be treated superior, even when it comes to their pest control. We also committed to being the safest, to providing the most complete service, and to being the easiest to work with.
Maintaining these commitments is an ongoing process and its never fully done. However, if you ever feel like we’re not keeping up on these commitments, please email me personally at greg@naturapc.com. I'm constantly looking for ways to improve and invite open and honest feedback.
Sincerely,
Greg Young

One of the many reasons I love my job is because of the people that it allows me to interact with. This includes my business partners, our team members, and our customers. When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my four young kids and amazing wife. My passion is creating and building. This is most often manifest though woodworking in my garage.
